Families refusing access to support

The East London Waste Authority is to appoint a legal services provider to a seven-year contract estimated to be worth more than £1.6m.

The authority said the legal services to be provided by the contractor will cover the following areas:

  • Contract expiry and transition: support with the expiry and transition of the Integrated Waste Management Strategy (IWMS) contract; and
  • Future services delivery: support with the procurement of new services to be in place following expiry of the IWMS contract.

The waste authority added: “The contractor is required to lead on all legal matters as well as proactively seek advice and assistance from the authority and other advisers when necessary.”

The contract is expected to start on 5 November 2022 and run until 4 November 2029.
