Housing barrister rejoins St Ives Chambers after seven-year spell at social landlord
Housing law specialist Richard Dewsbery has returned to St Ives Chambers after seven years working in-house at a large housing association.
- Details
The set described Dewsbery, who was called to the Bar in 1992, as a pioneer in the field of antisocial behaviour orders and injunctions. “His clients have included large institutional landlords, including councils and housing associations, private homeowners and tenants.”
St Ives added: “Uniquely amongst practitioners at the Bar, Richard has a keen understanding of the different competing pressures and interests that corporate clients are acting under, gained from his years working in-house.
“In particular, Richard has a wealth of experience advising on and defending housing conditions claims brought against landlords by their tenants, whether at an early stage under the pre-action protocol or in court.”
Elizabeth Isaacs KC, Head of St Ives Chambers, said “I am delighted that Richard has chosen to return to Chambers. He will be an asset to the Housing Group and to Chambers as a whole. We all very much look forward to working with him once again”.
