Stratford-on-Avon District Council has appointed Marcia Eccleston as Head of Law and Governance.

Eccleston, currently Head of Legal and Deputy Monitoring Officer for Law and Governance at Oxford City Council, will join Stratford's leadership team in August.

She has previously also held the role of the Head of Service - Legal, Governance and Risk for the collaboration between West Mercia and Warwickshire Police.

Her appointment follows the retirement of Phil Grafton, Head of Law and Governance, who has been at the district council for a decade.

Eccleston said: "I am delighted about my new role at Stratford-on-Avon District Council and look forward to joining the team."

Stratford has also appointed Annette Homer as Head of Housing and Customer Services.

Cllr Susan Juned, Leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council said: "I am very much looking forward to working with both Annette and Marcia. Although it's sad to be losing two experienced Heads of Service, they will be a welcome addition to the leadership team. Both bring a wealth of knowledge with a proven track record and I'm sure they will continue to build on the excellent services already offered by the District Council whilst helping us to deliver our corporate objectives."
