SNG (Sovereign Network Group), one of England’s largest housing associations, has appointed Kirsten Keegan as its Group General Counsel.

As Group General Counsel, Keegan will join SNG’s Executive team, providing strategic leadership for legal affairs, regulatory compliance, and associated risk management.

She joins SNG from global banking giant JP Morgan, where she held senior roles over more than ten years, most recently leading the global legal team supporting the Payments business within its Corporate & Investment Bank.

Prior to JP Morgan, she also headed legal teams at Barclays Bank, and was an associate at law firm DLA Piper.

The product of a merger between Sovereign and Network Homes in October 2023, SNG provides 84,000 homes across the south of England including London, and has ambitions to build 25,000 more homes over the next ten years.

Mark Washer, Group Chief Executive of SNG, said: “Kirsten brings strong strategic leadership experience and I’m looking forward to her being an active voice in our Executive team as we start to deliver our ambitious plans for SNG.

“Housing associations are seeing significant change in our regulatory environment, and we want to be sure we are delivering for our current and future customers while meeting all our responsibilities.”

Keegan said: “There has never been greater need for the work that SNG does to provide good, affordable homes for people so I’m hugely excited to get started. While there will necessarily be a focus on the regulatory changes that are underway in the sector, I’m also looking forward to supporting the whole organisation to deliver its social purpose through its corporate plan.”
