LLG urges members to vote in contested elections
LLG (Lawyers in Local Government) is calling on members to vote for candidates in respect of a number of contested seats, including for the organisation's next Deputy Vice President.

The successful candidates will be appointed at the membership group’s AGM next month (17 April).
The candidates standing for election are:
Deputy Vice President
- Helen Bradley - Monitoring Officer and Head of Legal & Democratic Services at Durham County Council.
- Anita Bradley - Director of Law & Governance and Monitoring Officer at Oxfordshire County Council
Junior National Lead
- Jessica Lishman- Planning Lawyer at Leeds City Council.
- Aron Lethbridge - Debt Recovery & Litigation Paralegal at Crawley Borough Council
Regional Director for the North
- John Purvis- Procurement and Commercial Solicitor at Leeds City Council
- Neil Kennard - Commercial Property, Highways and Planning Lawyer at Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council
Regional Director for Wales
- Kelly Byrne - Legal Services Manager and Deputy Monitoring Officer at Pembrokeshire County Council
- Matthew Powell – Legal Services Manager at Flintshire County Council
The elections close on 18 March and in accordance with the company’s articles are ringfenced to the following constituencies:
- Regional Director (North) – Northern membership
- Regional Director (Wales) – Welsh membership
- Junior National Lead - Junior membership (under 5 years pqe)
- Deputy Vice President – Full members
LLG said members need to make sure that they have joined the relevant group on the organisation’s website in order to receive the voting link.
At the AGM, current President Rachel McKoy will become the Past President, Aneeka Sarwar will become the President and Paul Turner will become the Vice President.
LLG added that it would also say goodbye "with grateful thanks" to board members Rochelle Tapping, Kieran McGaughey, Helen Edwards and Jennifer Phillips.
LLG will announce the outcome of the elections together with those to be appointed in uncontested seats in advance of the notice of AGM.
