1KBW family law silk appointed as High Court judge
Richard Harrison KC of 1KBW has been appointed a High Court judge, assigned to the Family Division.

Called to the Bar in 1993, Harrison has specialised in family law for more than 31 years, and has particular expertise in financial remedy applications and international children cases. He took silk in 1993.
He also brings five years of judicial experience as a Deputy High Court Judge, to the role.
The appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements.
Harrison will take up appointment on 2 December 2024.
His selection comes two months after 1 Hare Court’s Stephen Trowell KC was named a High Court judge, assigned to the Family Division.
