LLG branch sets up student mentoring scheme with university
The North East branch of LLG has launched a student mentoring scheme in partnership with Northumbria University.
- Details
The purpose of the scheme is two-fold:
- to support and encourage the development of law students in the North East; and
- to promote local government as a viable career option for junior lawyers.
It will be open to all final year students on the MLaw course at the university. It is estimated that there will be opportunities for 15 students to take part initially.
The mentors are all lawyers currently working in local council legal teams. Their experience levels range from newly qualified up to the most senior lawyer at their council.
