The Data Protection Officer does not just advise on the law. He/she must have many skills including liaising with senior management, driving change, influencing organisational culture, devising compliance strategies, delivering training, designing and conducting audits, advising on DPIAs and liaising with the Information Commissioner.

On this workshop, led by a serving Data Protection Officer, you will study the importance of this role, the practical key skills required and how to make it work. We will also examine how the role will change as a result of the recently revised the Data Protection and Digital Information Bill.

This workshop is suitable for DPOs in both the public and privacy sector. It is not about the law. It will analyse the role and duties of the DPO in a practical corporate context.
