One of the UK’s leading infrastructure and renewable energy law firms Sharpe Pritchard has launched a new monthly Podcast, ‘Making Solar Simpler’ to help with the implementation of solar technology throughout the UK.

Hosted by Steve Gummer and Stephen Cirell – collectively known as the ‘Green Steves’ – the podcast aims to address the challenges local authorities face in the rollout of solar PV projects.
Each month, the hosts will be joined by leading industry experts and local authority professionals, who have successfully implemented solar projects.
Together the team will provide practical insights, highlighting best practices, innovative approaches, and proven strategies to help navigate the common hurdles that local solar projects face.
Additionally, the team will look to demystify the regulatory landscape, with enriching discussions and diverse perspectives.
In the inaugural episode the ‘Green Steves’ are joined by UK Solar PV and industry stalwart Ray Noble, MBE.
Ray has been named a Member of the British Empire, acknowledging his services to the renewable energy industry. He joined BP Solar in 1999, later establishing his own consultancy, Solar BIPV, advising some of the world’s largest solar manufacturers.
In the episode, they explore the opportunities and challenges in the solar space, the business case for solar, battery storage, current government policy, the wider framework and local authority strategies.
Steve Gummer, Partner and Head of Net Zero at Sharpe Pritchard said, “I’m really excited to launch our ‘making solar simpler’ Podcast and delighted that Ray could join us for our first episode.
“Our aim is to provide accessible knowledge and actionable strategies, empowering local authorities to embrace sustainable energy solutions.
“Through engaging discussions and expert insights, we hope to inspire meaningful change and drive widespread adoption of solar energy initiatives, ultimately contributing to a greener, more resilient future for all.”
The first episode of ‘Making Solar Simpler’ is available to listen on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon Music.
