Sport and arts bodies to set up £2.5m+ legal services framework
Sport England, UK Sport and Arts Council England have launched the procurement of an external legal services framework estimated to be worth more than £2.5m over four years.
The framework has been divided into the following lots:
- General: Tenderers must be able to deliver legal advice services on the following practice areas: commercial law, contract law, constitutional structures and powers, employment law, information law (including data protection and freedom of information), insolvency law, intellectual property, litigation, procurement and EU regulations, planning law, property and construction law, property litigation, public law and general policy, state aid/ competition law, tax including VAT – tenderers are advised to “note this is the least important practice area to both Sport England, UK Sport and Arts Council England”.
- Administrative Law and National Lottery Specialism: Tenderers must be able to deliver legal advice services on the following practice areas: administrative law, corporate governance, National Lottery Act, public law and policy.
- Sports Law Specialism: Tenderers must be able to deliver legal advice services on the following areas including but not limited to: athletes Rights and conduct, athlete endorsements, image rghts, bidding and hosting major sports events, regulatory and disciplinary (anti-doping, anti-corruption, etc.), sports sponsorship (incl. value-in-kind), sport high performance, research in sports science, medicine, research and innovation.
The proposed framework contract will initially be for a period of three years, with an option to extend it for an additional one-year period.
