The Scottish Police Authority has appointed nine law firms to a legal services framework worth an estimated £3.84m.

The framework has been divided into the following lots:

  1. Employment law and legal advice re HR matters,
  2. General litigation and advice.
  3. Advice and representation on complaints, conduct and disciplinary matters in respect of police officers and staff.
  4. Inquiries and reviews.
  5. Procurement advice.

The successful firms were:

  • Balfour + Manson (Lots 2, 3, 4).
  • Clyde & Co (Scotland) (1, 3).
  • DAC Beachcroft Scotland (1, 2, 3).
  • DWF (4).
  • Ledingham Chalmers (1, 2, 3, 4).
  • MacRoberts (5).
  • Morton Fraser (1, 2, 4).
  • Thorntons Law (1).
  • TLT (5).

The award criteria were quality (weighting: 60) and price (weighting: 40).
