Sally McLaren, a law librarian with more than 20 years of experience, compiled the guide.

She said: “Litigants in person often face overwhelming challenges in navigating legal processes and accessing reliable legal materials, my goal was to create something that could help bridge that gap.

“The guide is organised around key stages: from seeking early legal advice and exploring alternatives to court, to engaging legal representation, considering funding options, and, if necessary, representing yourself. It's completely free and I encourage people to share and re-use as needed."
